Since its official launch in 2011 the HK416D GBB Airsoft gun has now been on the for two and a half years. During this time, VFC has not only maintained focus on the production of this gun but has also taken extensive time improving the HK416D series’M4 GBB system. The improvements span from increasing its stability and durability of its parts and mechanisms. During May of this year VFC announced that there will be an updated version to its HK416D series as well as new parts for itsHK416D GBB rifle. The official versions for the HK416D parts will be designated as “V2”. Previously the unofficial name for the new versions was “VFC HK416D GBB V2”but now the official SKU is “HK416D GBB(Ver.2014)”.

The following comparisons will be made comparing with VFC M4 RIS GBB from the Ver. 2013.
The buffer tube from the HK416D GBB (Ver.2014) is the same as the previous versions and is mil-spec and both use replica buffers(if there is desire to change to high speed buffers there is a need to change the parts to aluminum). With not changing the size of the buffer tube, VFC allows both guns to share stocks with each other.
Old and new Recoil Spring sleeve close-up, we can see, the new Recoil Spring sleeve thread section has also thickened,especially the more protruding lower edge portion, the angle makes it easier for the barrel pin cushion and tail rod keep a fixed position.
Next lets compare the fire control section and magazine slots.
HK416D GBB (Ver.2014) Modified the firing pin and the angle under the firing pin seat angle. From the operation of the firing pin the new angle is more real, more durable! These dimensional differences, allow the right HK416D barrel striker under seat flanked on both sides to increase the fixed position,shape, and reality.
Magazine slots. VFC M4 RIS GBB increased the use of plastic parts in the mag catch areas and this point has been maintained from 2012 on.
The HK416D GBB magazine slot has two ribs in front, more than M4 RIS GBB, both before and after using a different approach to increase the magazine adaptation I personally think HK416D GBB is better and is able to reduce magazine shaking which helps stabilize output and increase efficiency.
Part of the fire control parts, new and the legacy of HK416D GBB M4 RIS GBB, uses sub-lead alloy hammer + Division teeth(hammer hook) + trigger, while the new version HK416D GBB's hammer with the Secretary teeth (strike hammer hook) has been changed to steel, but the trigger is still sub-lead alloy.
Both of the two hammers with the Secretary teeth(hammer hook) may be put together, they are exactly the same size, but the materials have changed.
Part of the magazine valve, both new and legacy have switched to the new versions of the valve, increasing the vent size, and the opening and closing of the valve outlet restrictions enhances the efficiency of gasification.
If the player purchased a new version of HK416DGBB and wants to change the trigger to a steel trigger, sadly there is a wait, because the current VFC M4 GBB Series with steel trigger only applies to previous versions steel hammer & Secretary teeth (hammer hook ) group. (Below left)
This picture is the sold steel fire control group and HK416D GBB (Ver.2014). Judging from the fire control group comparison chart, it looks, perhaps this is our favorite part of the new version of the hammer & Secretary teeth (hammer hook) with fully thickened areas of friction, everything is absolutely more durable than earlier versions indeed!
